The St. Kathrein Thermal Spa
Undergoing reconstruction for our guests
In the winter of 16/17, the spa municipality of Bad Kleinkirchheim / Therme St. Kathrein GmbH is implementing reconstruction works for you. Extensive restructuring and modernisation measures already commenced in September 2016. The Thermal Spa with Kärnten’s largest pool surface looks forward to again welcoming guests after completion of an eight-month construction period in June 2017.
Via the website therme-kathrein.at we provide a preview on the future look and will update you on the progress of the reconstruction work on a regular basis.
SUMMER HIGHLIGHT RE-OPENING JUNE 2017
With nock/spa, Bad Kleinkirchheim pampers its guests offering two thermal spa facilities – the restructured St. Kathrein Thermal Spa and the Sauna & Wellness temple of the Römerbad Thermal Spa.
Where a Spartan outdoor pool stood back in 1934, the completely redeveloped St. Kathrein Thermal Spa Kathrein will soon shine with new lustre.
The unique appeal of the generous swimming areas was hereby maintained. With a range of 1200 m² including outdoor pools, the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa offers the largest water surface of all of Kärnten’s spa facilities. An absolute highlight for families will be the 86m slide. The tunnelled fun slide can be accessed via a heated tower, leads back to the facility’s indoor pools and is thus available all year round. Water fountains in the fun pool guarantee great entertainment for kids!
Fully in line with the Nockberge region, the large relax area is decorated lovingly in local style with pine furnishings – and will surely fascinate guests! According to a study, pinewood slows your heart frequency down by approx. one hour per day, and thus provides for improved physical and psychological well-being.
The 32°C thermal waters that spring directly behind the new facility are not only relaxing but also have positive effects on conditions like rheumatism, joint and disk problems as well as migraines.
The entrance area of the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa is made wider and, thanks to barrier-free access on one level, will become even more inviting. The modernised therapy centre in the eastern part of the St. Kathrein facility continues to remain under the experienced management of spa physician Dr. Eckart Waidmann. In the northern part of the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa the heated outdoor pools are surrounded by the sauna area characterised by its Roman flair and love for detail.
